got pulled over :(

aight so drivin home around 12:15 (just after midnight) and i'm drivin down this road doin 5mph over. i pass a cop at a stop sign and he follows me but i didnt think much of it. i go to turn onto the next road on my way home and he flips his lights on and speeds up to me and pulls me over. i'm like great wtf did i do?!?!?!?! so he walks up (btw y do they have to shine their spot light in ur mirror which points it right in ur eyes u cant see anything then!) and hes like where r u goin and where r u coming from. so i say i'm goin home and i was coming from John Harbors Coffee Shop (i did say the town but since i was still in the town he made me be specific) then hes like is this ur vehicle? im like yes. next hes like do u know y i pulled u over? i reply w/ i'm not really sure y. and then hes like well u have a defective muffler. (btw i just have the extension pipe and muffler on and its not that loud. i just havent finished fiting the tail pipe thats exiting the rear. and i've also driven past cops, in towns where they pull u over for pretty much everything, goin up hill at the gear drop where it sounds the loudest w/ no muffler on and the cop was right next to me and def heard me but didnt pull me over then and he wasnt busy at the time.) and in my mind him thinkin one how in the world do u know i have only a muffler on when i'm doin about 35mph stayin pretty constant at it and i only drive past him. so ya that kinda pissed me off. i mean seriously how can u tell its not like the mufflers that loud. but ya i just got out of it w/ a fix it ticket. and if i dont fix it by 5-21-08 then i get to pay them $83. so ya i'm not doin the tail pipe out the back any more i'm just sayin screw that and go w/ a stock one.

That sucks. Sorry to hear about that.

That does suck.. Now he will be looking for you in that town to see if you fix it. They shine that spot light at your mirror so that you can't see them, and take off as soon as they get out of the car, or any other activity you might attempt. Also so they can see what you are doing in the car, maybe hiding something or just acting strange.

I got pulled over once on my way home from work in my Dodge Neon. He said that I was doing 68 in a 65 and that was ok, but he pulled me over for the loud exhaust. I told him that it was getting old and was starting to rust, he said ok just get it taken car of. In reality the exhaust was fine and it was supposed to sound that way. 4 cyl. long tube header, 2.5 in. pipe through a 24 in. glasspack......kinda loud

ya it sucks but atleast i dont have to pay any money

haha wow ya i was thinkin of sayin i'm ordering parts and they're getting here tomorrow or somethin but this guy kinda seemed like a dick so i didnt bother.

That sucks! When I was 17 I was leaving a party in my camaro and I got pulled over for loud exhaust. It had longtubes with no cats and flowasters that dumped before the axel. It was kinda loud, but I think he just wanted to pull me over to make sure I wasn't drinking or doing anything illegal.

That sucks man. The last thing i got pulled over for was a seatbelt violation about five years ago. Around here they're more worried about seatbelt tickets than anything else. Which is good because our farm truck is a dodge cummins with a straight pipe. We bought the truck that way. My dad would never do any after market upgrades.

haha ya plus seatbelt tickets r cheap like $10 or somethin atleast around here they r. but thats in safety. where as idk y they have a problem w/ loud exhaust i mean its safer.

I wish seat belt tickets were $10. My buddy just got one and I think he said it was $75 or something high like that.

Yeah I don't think seatbelt tickets are that cheap, at least not in my neck of the woods. Louder exhaust is safer? only if you are behind it and can hear it. The main concern they have is noise pollution. People don't like hearing loud exhaust all the time (especially when trying to sleep), same goes for obnoxiously loud car stereos.

ya my friend got one a couple months ago it was cheap like that.
and ya ik the loudness is safer thing is pretty much for motorcyles only. and as long as they rnt cruzing back and forth a loud car here and there shouldnt matter.
